- Operate and maintain a 37kW diesel-powered rotary drilling rig with mud pump and 150m of 60mm drill pipes. - Perform safe and efficient drilling for water wells up to 150m deep, using mud or air compressor modes. - Conduct pre-drilling site setup, including hydraulic outrigger deployment and equipment checks. - Manage drilling operations, monitor gauges, and troubleshoot issues (e.g., pump clogs, pipe wear). - Ensure compliance with Water Resources Commission (WRC) regulations and safety standards. - Maintain rig and tools, including cleaning 60mm pipes and mud pump after jobs. - Liaise with clients and provide progress updates.

Responsibilities

- 3+ years’ experience operating hydraulic rotary drilling rigs (mud pump and air compressor modes). - Knowledge of Ghana’s geology, especially in Greater Accra, Eastern, Central, or Volta regions. - Valid WRC driller certification or eligibility to obtain one. - Heavy machinery operation license and safety training (e.g., PPE, site clearance). - Familiarity with 60mm drill pipes, 2.4m stroke rigs, and borehole construction (100-200mm wells). - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. - Based in or willing to relocate to Greater Accra Region.

Requirements & Skills

Minimum of a Senior High School Certificate (SHS) or Vocational/Technical Certificate (e.g., from Kumasi Technical University) in mechanical engineering, construction, or a related field. - Understanding of borehole drilling processes, including drill pipe assembly (2m lengths), mud pump operation, and basic maintenance (e.g., checking hydraulic fluids, cleaning pipes).
