To be a nail technician, you need a high school diploma, strong customer service skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, creativity, knowledge of nail care products and techniques, and the ability to maintain hygiene and safety standards while performing manicures and pedicures, including nail art designs; you should also be comfortable interacting with clients and understanding their needs to provide the best service possible.

Responsibilities

Customer service skills: Ability to interact with clients in a friendly and professional manner, listen to their needs, and build rapport. Communication skills: Effectively communicate with clients to understand their desired nail services and address any concerns. Attention to detail: Precisely execute nail services with meticulous care, including cuticle care, nail shaping, and polish application.

Requirements & Skills

You need to be a great listener, and you need to be able to ask questions to define your clients' requests when they aren't clear to you. You also must be able to provide feedback and advice for those clients who may not know exactly what they want.
