The Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching Science to learners from Grade 1 to Grade 7, preparing and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons that develop students’ understanding of basic scientific concepts, observation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical skills. The teacher will prepare lesson plans and teaching materials, conduct demonstrations and simple experiments, assess students’ learning through classwork, assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations, maintain accurate records of students’ academic progress, provide appropriate support to learners who need additional assistance, manage the classroom effectively, encourage curiosity and active participation, maintain a safe and well-organized learning environment during practical activities, participate in school activities and meetings, communicate professionally with parents and colleagues, and contribute to the overall academic development and discipline of students.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Science Education, General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field, with teaching experience at the primary or junior high school level. The candidate should have strong knowledge of basic science concepts, excellent communication and classroom-management skills, and the ability to explain scientific ideas clearly and in an age-appropriate manner. Experience with practical activities, experiments, activity-based learning, and modern teaching methods will be an advantage. The candidate should be patient, responsible, creative, organized, adaptable, and passionate about working with young learners, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain a positive and professional learning environment.

Requirements & Skills

The candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s degree or relevant teaching qualification in Science Education, General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field, with a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience. The candidate must have good communication and classroom-management skills, a sound understanding of basic science concepts, and the ability to teach Science effectively to learners from Grade 1 to Grade 7.Applicants must currently live in Tema or its surrounding areas** and be able to commute reliably to the school in Tema Community 11. The candidate must be responsible, patient, organized, and committed to creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
