About the role

PROCUREMENT OFFICER
The procurement officer is responsible for devising and using fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies. More also, discovering profitable suppliers and initiate procurement partnerships and negotiating with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procument costs
Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services

COMPETENCIES
Proven working experience as a procument officer
Excellent interpersonal relations
Talent in negations and networking
Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
Possess skills to work both in a team and also perform independently
Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION /EXPERIENCE
BSc degree or HND in supply chain management, logistics or business administration from a recognized institution

Minimum of 2years experience
